Ramona Children’s Charity will hold its 11th annual charity golf tournament on June, 22, 2006. Join us for a Tropical Island Adventure at beautiful Mt. Woodson Golf Club, in Ramona, California. Golf, relax and enjoy a pool side Island Style Luau, complete with Hawaiian BBQ dinner, raffle prizes and fabulous auction items. Our charity benefits children with severe disabilities in Ramona Unified School District’s special education programs.

The Tropical Island Adventure golf tournament check-in begins at 9AM with a buffet continental breakfast, followed by fun golf games and helicopter rides. Golfers will receive goodie bags with island style golfwear. Special education students from Ramona Unified School District will be there at registration and at the famous Lemonade Stand to cheer the golfers on and offer them lemonade. A modified scramble will begin at 11AM. Golfers can tee-off at an attempt for a hole-in-one on a designated hole, with a prize of a zippy MINI Cooper Convertible donated by BRECHT Mini and BRECHT Motorsports.

The Island Style Luau begins at 4PM, where there will be raffle prizes awarded, a silent and live auction and a delicious BBQ dinner. The Ramona High School cheerleaders have offered to lend a hand and serve the dinner and Miss Ramona will offer her royal assistance. Trophies will be awarded for golfers, but you do not have to golf at the tournament to enjoy the day and help special needs children.

Ramona Children’s Charity is moving ahead with plans to build a new Preschool Center for the severely and moderately disabled children in our community.

Our Big 2006 Goal

All volunteers will receive a commemorative volunteer t-shirt, all the lemonade they can drink and the appreciation of Ramona special needs students and their teachers. We have a big goal for 2006 that we would like to reach and your help is so needed.

Ramona Children’s Charity is moving ahead with plans to build a new Preschool Center for the severely and moderately disabled children in our community. Current estimated cost to provide a quality center is nearly $1,000,000. This will be constructed on a 5,000 sq ft. site in the Ramona Unified School District. The new center will replace the existing 1,400 sq ft, twenty-five year old, modular structure that services nearly eighty qualified students. We currently have over $110,000 committed to complete this project successfully. We are in the midst of an aggressive capital improvement fund drive to gain commitment or actual deposits to achieve this goal within the next 180 days.
